Victory Breakfast

After my triathlon yesterday and a night of sleeping like a rock, I wasn’t feeling like cooking myself breakfast, so I suggested heading to one of my favourite breakfast locations.

Cora’s!

(Don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten about recapping the tri! I just want the time to do a good job of the recap, so I’l putting it off until tomorrow… aka after my big lab report is due. I hope y’all understand ;) )

Whenever you’re in the mood for a big breakfast, Cora’s never disappoints.

My hot breakfast date – my boyfriend Corey :)

I got a fruit smoothie to tide me over while we looked over the menu. I think today’s mix was pineapple, peach, strawberry and cherry – it was so good!

Usually I go for something with the fancily-arranged fruit, but the idea of french toast and crepes won me over in the end and I decided on the Seventh of July.

Besides, when the fruit is just cut up and piled on top of the dish, it’s easier to eat ;)

Corey got the manliest breakfast, which came with oodles of eggs and meat.

With a goblet of fruit on the side that I had to help him finish (I’m so thoughtful, right?). If I get to eat like this all the time after doing a triathlon, I might just start doing them more often ;)

A recap of the tri to come tomorrow!

Last Day of HLS

The last day of the HLS began with a 5k run.

(Photo from the Arnold and Oroweat Facebook page! Can you spot me?)

This was my first time ever running with a group so I was really nervous about it, but the run was probably actually the most fun I had this weekend. A few of us fell behind the main group a bit, and we ended up wandeing around the city for over an hour finding our way back to the hotel. It was definitely an adventure, and I’m glad Susan and I got the chance to get to know Shannon :)

After the run, we headed down all gross and sweaty for some bagel thins!

Fresh fruit (I never get sick of it!)

Protein ;)

I grabbed a little bit of everything, because I was starving after our unplanned city tour. I was especially excited for the scrambled eggs – I’m not sure why, but I love the bulk-made scrambled eggs they serve at buffets!

We also got to make our own cream cheese – I had almonds, raisins, pineapple and honey in mine. It was tasty, but a little hard to spread on the bagel thin just because everything I chose was so chunky.

After showering and packing, Susan and I set off for what was possibly the most important stop of the trip.

Oh yes. We don’t have these in or anywhere near Toronto, so we were pretty excited to check it out.

We also had this weird thing where we dressed like each other more than once throughout the course of the weekend. With the red hair and matching outfits, we looked like those sisters whose parents buy them identical clothes. Is that creepy?

I was pretty proud of myself, because I managed to only spend $15. I’ll show you guys my finds later, when I show all the swag as well ;)

For the next 10 hours, I drove and drove and drove and drove. And snacked.

And snacked some more.

And snacked on an AllieBar! Even though I managed to get as much on my lap as I did in my mouth, it was delicious and I loved it :) Thank you so much, Allie! It was awesome!

I didn’t end up getting home until about 1:30 in the morning, and dragging my butt to work today wasn’t the best. I’m so wiped out from the trip that I feel pretty much non-functional right now. I meant to sleep super early today, but somehow time escaped me and it’s already 11! I’m off to sleep like a rock, and will post my final thoughts (and swag!) tomorrow :) Night!
