Do you know what this is?

This is apple pie and banana soft serve for breakfast. Oh yes. Absolutely delicious, but a lot of my meals have started looking like this lately, and my waistline is definitely feeling it. Intuitive eating is something I’ve always struggled with, because when I’m in the mood for some chocolate at night, I don’t really feel like honouring my hunger signals. Now that my pants are getting to the point where it’s practically a workout getting into them, I know I need to make some changes.
My plan isn’t anything drastic or out of the ordinary, just what everyone already knows:
- Eat more veggie-focused meals in smaller portions.
- Less mindless snacking throughout the day.
- Honour my hunger signals.
- Enjoy lighter desserts for
- Begin right now.
There are a million excuses that come up once school starts – I’m so exhausted, I have an assignment due, I have no time, blah blah blah. I know that to build a good foundation, I need to incorporate healthy living techniques right away to avoid falling into a rut.
Even though my work report is due tomorrow, I didn’t let myself use that as an excuse to skip a workout. I was up before the sun for a 6:00 AM Body Pump class, which I didn’t feel too enthusiastic about when my alarm was going off, but was really grateful I went to. I even saw a certain someone at the gym
I’m glad I’m not the only crazy one!
After my workout I was craving OIAJ in the last jar I have left…

And I definitely saved the best for last

I made up a batch of regular banana oats topped with almonds, coconut and cacao nibs. There was almost no dark chocolate almond butter left, but it was still nice to have a hint of it in the bottom.

Lunch was simple and healthy: 2 eggs with cheese on an Arnold’s wheat thin, and steamed broccoli topped with fleur de sel.

Dinner was also delicious and nutritious. I reheated some leftover salmon and pesto zucchini from my dinner yesterday, and served it over a bed of wilted spinach, topped with herbed goat cheese. I broiled it in the oven until the cheese got all melty, and it was awesome.

The day isn’t complete without dessert, though – I see a chocolate vitatop + banana soft serve in my future. Even when I’m trying to fit back into my pants, dessert is essential

As most of you probably know, I’ve entered into Project Food Blog. I would really appreciate if you took a look at my entry, and if you like what you read, I would be really grateful for your vote!
To thank you for listening to all the vote requests, I’ll leave you with something really cool that my roommate put together on laundry day:

A laundry rainbow!
Have a wonderful evening!
