After a crazy week of moving and a weekend away, it was grocery day here in Toronto. My fridge was definitely looking bare, and it needed some re-stocking.

I stopped by the grocery store after work and picked up a big bag of apples, some hummus, ricotta cheese, shampoo + conditioner, a lemon Lunabar, a club pack of chicken breasts (on sale!) and two pints of blueberries, which came from a nearby produce shop my landlady recommended to me. I don’t normally buy meat, but I’ve been craving stuffed chicken breasts lately, and I figured it was a sign when chicken was on sale this week.

Thanks to the chicken my bill was a little higher than normal, and I came in a little over $40 for the week after the extra $6 for both baskets of blueberries. Now that I have a nice (and cheap) produce shop nearby, I don’t feel the need to buy everything from the grocery store during my regular shopping trip. I’m going to try and buy what I need as I need it, to keep things fresh for as long as possible and reduce what I waste.
I was planning on having the asparagus in my fridge as part of dinner, but somehow it managed to go bad over the weekend
I’ve never had asparagus go bad on me before – I don’t even know how it happened!

Instead I whipped up some instant pasta with a side of sauteed spinach, which wasn’t the most wholesome dinner, but really hit the spot.

The last of my Christmas Terry’s chocolate orange was for dessert, yum!
Unfortunately, groceries weren’t the only thing I spent more than usual on today. I stopped by the mall while I was running some errands, and before I knew it, I was walking out of Lululemon with my credit card burning. Bad Callie!

But Wunder Unders are so worth it – I’m never taking these babies off
Time for me to try and be productive before I pass out in bed. Have a good night!
Do you ever make impulse purchases?
