Midterm Madness

Sorry I’ve been MIA this week, guys :( I have 4 midterms 4 days in a row, so life’s been a little insane and I’ve considered ripping my brain out a few times. Even though I haven’t been posting, I’ve still been snapping photos of my eats, so here’s some of the things I’ve been eating on the go over the past few days to fuel my intense studying.

Nothing too fancy, just what gets the job done ;) Once hell week is over, I’ll be back with the promised tiramisu recipe, my weekly groceries and my first taste of the new Tim Hortons oatmeal!

See you later, if I survive :S

Soup for the Ailing

Hello and happy Tuesday, blog friends :)

Today is our “early” day, which means we start class at 8:30 am. This used to be an everyday thing, but now we luckily only have one (or possibly two) days where we start this early, and the other days we only begin at 9:30 am. Even though it’s only an hour difference, I find it’s so much better beginning at 9:30. Maybe that’s just because I’m really not a morning person ;)

I packed my breakfast to go today, in the end of a greek yogurt tub. I topped the bit of yogurt that remained with sliced strawberries, 1/4 cup of raw oats and a big spoonful of sunflower seed butter.

I think I’m the only Canadian girl who still has her jar of sunflower seed butter left – I will cherish it :)

Lunch was quick and packed as well.

It featured the leftover Sidekicks pasta creation from the other day, which I have to admit wasn’t too great. Heating the chickpeas for the third time around made them into dry little death balls.

On the side I had some grapes and the last of the chocolate animal crackers. I actually ate all of the rest last night (!!) and now I have none left :(

Even though my lunch held me over well throughout the day, when I got home I was still a little hungry. I had a chocolatey snack of Erewhon chocolate rice crispies with chocolate almond milk to curb my hunger until dinner. You can never have too much chocolate ;)

All day I was feeling a little off, and by the time I got home I felt noticeably nauseous. I’ve been feeling sick for a few days now, and it hasn’t really been getting any better. I know that something’s definitely going on, because my dad phoned and asked if I wanted to go out for a sushi dinner, and I had to say no :( Sad days.

Instead of an awesome sushi spread, I had some leftover corn chowder topped with cold avocado.

It was no salmon sashimi, but it still hit the spot.

I felt so terrible that I had to lay down for a bit, and ended up napping for an hour or two. I felt a little better when I woke up, but I still have these persistent stomach pains that won’t go away :(

I thought banana soft serve might help – I mean, why not? ;) I topped my bowl with some sliced almonds, chocolate syrup and cacao nibs. I think it actually did help a bit, because now I feel up to working on a few school things.

Differential equations =/= fun. Good thing our first assignment isn’t due until the end of the month!

I’m going to sign off for the evening and work on some very important things (ie. work term report). It’s due in a week – eek! 8O
